MONTREAL — Bell Media announced today a new documentary series revisiting the investigation into corruption in Quebec’s construction industry, Corruption: Révélations Choc de la Commission Charbonneau (Corruption: Shocking Revelations of the Charbonneau Commission), will air exclusively on Crave in February 2022.
The release of the docuseries will mark the 10th anniversary of the start of the Charbonneau Commission’s inquiry, which was led by Quebec Superior Court justice France Charbonneau and concluded with the release of the commission’s final report in November 2015.
The series includes testimonies from commissioners, lawyers, investigators (including investigator Éric Vecchio, above left) and editors who worked to expose the corruption. The role of the Mafia, construction contracts in Montreal, Laval and elsewhere in Quebec, the financing of political parties and the FTQ (La Fédération des travailleurs et travailleuses du Québec) are all topics covered in the series.
The team behind this Crave original series, consisting of five 60-minute episodes, includes André Noël (above right, ex-investigative journalist at La Presse), Alain Roy (who along with Noël was a lead writer of the Charbonneau Commission report) and director Sébastien Trahan (Le Dernier Vol de Raymond Boulanger, Présumé Innocent: L’Affaire Michelle Perron).
Corruption: Révélations Choc de la Commission Charbonneau is produced by Zone 3 in collaboration with Bell Media.
