TORONTO – As the Covid-19 crisis continues, Canadians are looking for comfort food like their favourite movies. With that in mind, independent broadcaster Channel Zero is making their movie channels, Silver Screen Classics and Rewind, free this month.
“While we work together to stop the spread of Covid-19, social distancing is being practiced in homes across Canada. While many of us are safely isolating at home, we’d like to take this opportunity to extend our words of thanks to the doctors, nurses, health care workers, grocery store clerks, pharmacy operators, delivery drivers, and many, many more who continue to perform their jobs for the greater good of the communities we live in,” said the company in a press release.
“As we navigate this unprecedented time, those of us spending more time at home are reminded of the importance of connection. Despite the distance we all feel, we are never far from the people and places we love. A phone call, video chat, email or text can bring some much-needed support, laughter and good memories. So too can a good book, a favourite song, or a classic film.”
