CFRN Television’s Graham Neil joins CFCW

EDMONTON – “The late and legendary Wes Montgomery was one of a kind and can never be duplicated, imitated or reinvented,” says CFCW general manager Al Anderson when announcing the station’s new morning co-host yesterday.

“We did however want to capture as many of the attributes as possible that Wes brought to CFCW mornings. Someone who cares about the communities in this great province of ours… and someone who can match wits and stand toe-to-toe with our world class morning personality Jackie Rae… and someone who covers the town like a carpet,” he added. That someone is from CFRN Television, CFCW’s new morning co-host, Graham Neil.

Now Newcap-owned radio station CFCW began broadcasting from a small studio in Camrose in 1954, becoming the first station in Canada to play country music 24 hours a day. During those five decades CFCW has grown to have full-time studios in both Camrose and Edmonton and become the most listened to country music station in the province.

CFCW mornings have always been the voice of the station, with such notable and legendary broadcasters as Bev Munro and the late Wes Montgomery waking up the province and starting our day out with a smile.
