TORONTO – The Canadian Football League (CFL) will be offering a mobile, interactive and real-time information service for free to mobile devices, it was announced Tuesday.
Through the service, football fans will have one-click access to tickets, schedules, news, and real-time stats and scores, as cartt.ca reported earlier this month.
“Now fans can follow games in progress wherever they are, whenever they want, and can get detailed information that will make each game and our entire season even more exciting,” said CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon. “Now, no matter where you’re traveling, you’re never far away from the road to the Grey Cup.”
The service is being offered in conjunction with Viigo’s mobile content service for smartphones.
“A new generation of football fans is demanding new ways of staying connected to the sport they love,” said Viigo CEO Mark Ruddock. “In fact, this always connected, digital generation is looking at their relationship with their favorite sports and sports teams in revolutionary new ways. From real-time scores and fantasy stats, to features we’ll be enabling in the future such as live discussion forums, Viigo’s ability to provide an always on, always connected experience, wherever people are, is a key part of that revolution.”
