LAS VEGAS – Chinese TV manufacturers have mada a name for themselves by being good and cheap when it comes to the televisions they make. At CES 2019 both Hisense and TCL (which launched in Canada just before Chmade a number of product announcements where they are firmly placing themselves as the cheaper alternative to premium OLED TVs offered by LG and Sony.
Franjo Bobinac, vice-president of marketing for Hisense began its press conference by stating the company is now the number one TV manufacturer in China.
“At Hisense we believe the future of TV is not about who has the best screen but who can deliver the best content,” he said. While Hisense may not care to claim the best picture prize for its TVs, it still claims it new 100-inch laser TVs are “better than OLED.”
At CES Hisense will be showcasing its new 4K Smart TriChroma Laser TV (100L7T, pictured). The TV’s laser has an X-Fusion laser light engine that combines three independent lasers to achieve 100% of DCI-P3 color space. A TI DLP chip enables blazing fast motion speeds with a 32 micro-seconds refresh rate for 8.3 million pixels. It’s fast – and good.
