LAS VEGAS – LG Electronics newest OLED TVs serve a dual purpose as both a smart TV and one that, due to its amazing thinness, could lead guests to be believe you just added a new window.

It Signature OLED W-series TVs (the 65-inch model is 2.57 mm thin and can be directly mounted on a wall with no gaps) also features Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound, and includes a total of 10 different models, up to 77 inches in size. Over 80 studio titles are compatible with Dolby Vision and more than 100 titles are currently available for Dolby Atmos, with 25 available in both formats. LG says over 100 hours of original content is available in Dolby Vision across OTT providers worldwide, and consumers should have access to Dolby Vision titles on Ultra HD Blu-ray disc later this year. As with most CES announcements there was no pricing or specific launch dates provided.

“With Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos integrated into our newest OLED products, viewers can recapture the magic of the cinema and experience their favorite movies with their original clarity, depth and imagination intact,” said Tim Alessi, head of product marketing at LG Electronics USA in a news release.

To demonstrate the capabilities of HDR content on LG’s OLED TVs, HLG programming from DirectTV, Dolby Vision content from Netflix and HDR10 titles from Amazon Prime Video will be featured at LG’s booth at CES.

LG is also showcasing Channel Plus at CES 2017 — a free service powered by XUMO and now available on LG’s webOS smart TVs. Channel Plus integrates 70+ free streaming digital channels including sports and news from national broadcast networks, sites and publications such as Fox Sports, Newsy, Sports Illustrated, TIME, Bloomberg, People, Funny or Die, Fail Army and more into existing over-the-air TV channel options.

LG also announced its adding “Nano Cell” to its LCD Super UHD TVs. LG claims the Nano Cells, due to uniformly-sized particles approximately one nanometer in diameter, render colours more accurately while maintaining picture quality at wider viewing angles than standard LCD TVs. All of LG’s Super UHD models will offer Active HDR with Dolby Vision supporting multiple HDR formats.
