MONT TREMBLANT – Novus Entertainment’s Donna Robertson has been elected as chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Communication Systems Alliance/Alliance Canadienne des Systèmes de Communication, the organization announced Wednesday from CCSA Connect 2017.
Hay Communications GM Angela Lawrence was named vice-chair. It is the first time the group has had women in those jobs. Also announced was the new appointment of Ian Stevens of Execulink Telecom (ON) and the reappointments of Stéphane Arseneau of CCAP (QC) and Mike Fiorini of Cable Cable (ON). Continuing to serve on the Board is Dave Baxter of Westman Communications Group (MB), Jim Deane of Access Communications (SK) and Eric Banville of DERYtelecom (QC).
“We couldn’t be more pleased with these appointments,” said CCSA CEO Jay Thomson, in the announcement. “We have a strong leadership foundation in place with representation of different technologies from different regions of the country, including small and large companies that serve both rural and urban markets.”
The alliance of independent network operators also made a change in its name (one which won't alter its web site or letterhead though). As noted above it is now the Canadian Communication Systems Alliance, replacing "cable" with "communication" to better reflect its varied membership.
