Alberta broadcaster, the late Curley Gurlock will also be inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. "A legend in Alberta country radio, Curley Gurlock began his on-air career in 1952. He’s known as the DJ to play the latest release by a Canadian country recording artist, usually inviting them to join him on-air for a brief ‘chat’. Gurlock was so admired by country performers that several ‘tribute’ songs were recorded to honour and recognize his support, including Ray Griff’s 1983 song Curley. Gurlock passed away in 1995," says the CCMA web site.
