CBSC finds TV call-in show does not ring true

OTTAWA - A call-in contest program aired by Hamilton’s CHCH-DT has been called out by Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC) for violating the contest provision of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters’ (CAB) Code of Ethics.Game Time is a contest program that airs live and invites viewers to telephone the show to solve puzzles, quizzes and problems to win cash prizes.  Each call costs $1 regardless of whether or not the call is randomly selected to be put through to the host so the caller can suggest an answer.  CHCH-DT broadcast the program beginning at 12:30 AM.The CBSC handled two complaints about the...
