Most new shows on traditional TV in Canada though

NEW YORK – CBS All Access today announced the expansion of its Original Content team.

Led by Julie McNamara, executive vice president of original content, Danny Feldheim and Jana Steele Helman have both been promoted to the roles of senior vice-president of original content, and Ashley Whitaker joins the team as director of original content, alongside Eric Pertilla, who joined CBS All Access in August 2018 as director of original content.

“Together we’ve built an originals brand for CBS All Access that stands apart in the marketplace, and I look forward to continuing to work with this incredible team to grow the service and our originals slate even further,” said McNamara in the press release.

CBS All Access has developed and launched nine originals to date including Star Trek: Discovery, The Good Fight, Why Women Kill, and The Twilight Zone (Ed note: which are all available on traditional TV channels in Canada and not CBS all Access).

CBS All Access’ is continuing to expand its original slate with plans to offer more than 14 original series in 2020. Upcoming projects include the service’s first documentary film, Console Wars; the limited event series The Stand; Star Trek: Picard; and true crime series Interrogation, among others. No word on how many of those shows will populate the OTT service or find their way onto Canadian TV channels, but we do know the latest Star Trek has been purchased for Canada by Bell Media.
