CBS All Access adds new content and family-friendly features – but only in the U.S

NEW YORK — In advance of its upcoming rebrand to Paramount+, CBS All Access today announced the U.S. version of ViacomCBS’ streamer is adding new product features for families and even more Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. library programming.

Available to U.S. subscribers only, the new family-friendly features include the ability to create up to six profiles per account and manage each profile using “Kids Mode”, which allows parents to limit content to older or younger children based on content ratings. The service’s existing parental PIN controls’ option for locking access to certain mature content based on its content rating will still be available to use across profiles.

CBS All Access has introduced almost 800 more episodes of children’s programming to the U.S. service, including select past seasons of Nick Jr. favourites Paw Patrol, Blaze and the Monster Machines, Blue’s Clues, Bubble Guppies, Dora the Explorer, and Shimmer and Shine.

Original children’s programming on the service will continue to expand in the U.S. with the first spinoff from Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants, when the new series Kamp Koral premieres in early 2021. The U.S. service will also be the exclusive home of the upcoming feature film The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, the first-ever all-CGI SpongeBob motion picture.

Of course many of those titles are owned by other media companies for the Canadian marketplace. ViacomCBS has not announced its immediate future plans for Paramount+ in Canada.
