
TORONTO – Claude Galipeau is joining CBC/Radio-Canada as executive vice-president, corporate development, the public broadcaster announced Tuesday.
Galipeau (pictured) is currently chief revenue officer for the Torstar Corporation, and previously held senior leadership positions with Yahoo, Syncapse, Rogers Media and Astral Media.
He will be based in Toronto and will join the ‘pubcaster beginning January 7, 2019.
“I have asked Claude to take on this role because of his deep media and digital experience, his business savvy and his keen strategic insight”, said CBC/Radio-Canada president and CEO Catherine Tait, in the announcement. “At a time when our biggest competitors are powerful global digital companies, we need to be partnering with other broadcasters and news organizations, as well as culture groups, creators and international players to ensure a place for Canadian culture here and around the world. Claude will ensure we are positioned to do just that.”
