OTTAWA – CBC/Radio-Canada has doubled its digital reach two and a half years ahead of schedule.

Quoting comScore data, the public broadcaster said Monday that it received an average of 18 million unique visitors to its digital sites each month between April and October 2017, a target that it had forecasted to hit in 2019-20.  In addition, three-quarters of these visitors are now reaching the Corp through their mobile devices.

“This shows that programs and services on our digital platforms are resonating with Canadians,” said CBC/Radio-Canada’s president and CEO Hubert Lacroix, in a statement.  “We will keep building on this success. Digital is where Canadians are, and clearly where they want their public broadcaster to be.”

CBC/Radio-Canada’s launched its new strategy Strategy 2020: A space for us all in 2014 in an effort to modernize its services and focus on digital and mobile services.
