Cartoon Network, Adult Swim launching July 4


TORONTO – Cartoon Network and its nighttime counterpart Adult Swim will officially arrive in Canada on July 4.

To whet viewers' appetites, Canadian parent Teletoon will begin airing a weekly Cartoon Network programming block starting May 5, while Adult Swim shows will premiere on Teletoon at Night beginning June 1.  In addition, Teletoon Retro will offer block of classic Cartoon Network shows every week beginning June 2.

Cartoon Network, the 20 year-old Turner Broadcasting-owned cable service which is already available in 168 other countries, targets kids aged 8-14 with shows such as The Amazing World of Gumball, Adventure Time, and Regular Show between 6 am and 9 pm ET/PT. That’s followed by an Adult Swim late-night lineup that appeals to teens and young adults.

Websites for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim featuring video clips, games, extra content and programming information will launch simultaneously with the network.
