TORONTO – Radio veteran Bill Carroll is leaving his show at NEWSTALK 1010 after nearly 12 years to host a radio show in Los Angeles.
According to a press release from Astral Media, Carroll had recently approached management about pursuing a career in Los Angeles. Carroll’s daughter suffers from spina bifida and re-locating to Los Angeles will allow easier access to the unique therapy she receives from a specialist in Chile.
“As a long time, valued member of the NEWSTALK 1010 family, it was important for us to accommodate Bill and the needs of his family”, said program director Mike Bendixen, in the announcement. “At the same time Bill is an important asset to us and our listeners so we wanted to find a way of keeping Bill’s unique voice on our station and we have done just that.”
Carroll will continue to be heard on The Live Drive with John Tory, and will also join other station hosts on a regular basis. He begins his new show on KFI AM 640 in Los Angeles effective February 22.
