TORONTO – In a presentation Wednesday morning at Toronto’s Massey Hall, followed by an open-air luncheon in the city’s multimedia hub, Yonge-Dundas Square, some 1,400 advertisers, industry and press gathered to take in the launch of CanWest Global’s fall schedule on Global Television and the new E! (old CH).
"For both our advertisers and our audience, CanWest’s 2007-2008 schedules represent our most impressive prime time offering to date," said Kathleen Dore, president, Canadian television for CanWest MediaWorks, in the press release. "We’re passionate about the continued growth of our many television brands, and more determined than ever before to build strategically on the successes we’ve achieved over this last year."
In addition to 15 new series, the Global and E! prime time lineups unveiled today feature the return of hits that "have firmly re-established the networks’ loyal fan base over the last two years," says the release. "With a total of eight series back for their sophomore run – including smashes ‘Heroes’ and ‘Brothers & Sisters’ – and an additional six series returning for their third season – CanWest has created the country’s freshest, most vibrant prime time lineups."
The lineup on both stations seems to skew younger, too.
