TORONTO – Canwest Broadcasting said today it has hired Brad Kubota as vice-president, Global BC sales, effective September 1st, 2009.
"Brad is quite simply one of the best in the business and we are thrilled to welcome him back to Canwest," said Errol Da-Ré, executive vice-president sales, Canwest Broadcasting, in a press release.
"Vancouver is a market where we enjoy unprecedented leadership, and Brad’s experience positions him perfectly as the ideal person to lead our dynamic west coast team and ensure continued benefit to our local advertisers."
This announcement marks the return of Kubota to Canwest. He left to join CTV in March 2008 as VP sales in Toronto. He now returns to Vancouver where he held the position of VP and general manager of revenue management national sales and revenue manager of Canwest’s western operations prior to his departure.
"Both Canwest and Vancouver have played very significant roles in my life and career," said Kubota. "I am beyond excited to be a part of this amazing team."
He replaces Ruth Powell who is retiring after almost 20 years at Global BC.
