Canal Vie announces new docuseries Couples en survie

MONTREAL — Bell Media’s Canal Vie announced today a new documentary series, Couples en survie (Couples in Survival), which will see couples testing the strength of their love when they are thrown into a hostile environment and must survive there for 24 hours.

Quebec TV and radio personality Kim Rusk will host this series, accompanied by a survival specialist and a psychologist.

Consisting of six one-hour episodes, Couples en survie is being produced by Productions Lustitia, in collaboration with Bell Media.

The producers are currently recruiting couples to take part in the series. Filming will begin this summer, with the show expected to air on Canal Vie in 2023, according to a Bell Media press release.

“Tailor-made and thought out by the two experts in the series, the ordeals the couples go through will test their limits. Throughout their extraordinary adventure, the professionals as well as Kim Rusk will provide their impressions, analysis and comments on the experience of each couple,” reads an English translation of the press release.

“How will a couple who have been accomplices for several years react when they suddenly find themselves lost in the forest? Will two new lovers at the stage of seduction be able to face the trials together and understand each other? What will happen to two lovers of different generations? The selected couples will go for broke: make it or break it! Couples en survie will offer a beautiful laboratory to these couples who will live a significant experience,” the translation says.
