Canadians have embraced wireless competition, finds Wind Mobile survey

TORONTO – A new survey has found that 77% of Canadians feel that the increase in wireless competition from the new entrants has been positive, and over half (54%) believe that wireless prices have come down in the last two years since their launch.

The survey, conducted by wireless newcomer Wind Mobile, was released Monday along with details of the company’s new holiday advertising campaign which will feature comments and testimonials from real customers.

Other survey highlights include that 86% of respondents agree that there are more choices available for mobile phone service plans now than there were two years ago; and 74% feel that they have more freedom now that they no longer have to lock into a contract.

“It has always been our vision that Canadians would feel the positive impact of real wireless competition and we are very proud to have ushered in this new reality,” said Wind CEO Anthony Lacavera, in a statement.
