TORONTO – Canadian satire site TheBeaverton.com will bring its brand of mock news to Bell Media’s Comedy Network this November in a new TV series aptly called The Beaverton.

The first-look promo clip of the show introduces comedians Emma Hunter and Miguel Rivas (pictured) as the co-anchors of a new fake news program, informed by real events, the cultural zeitgeist, and national news media.

Produced by Pier 21 Films in association with The Comedy Network, 13 episodes of the half-hour series are set to be filmed in front of a live studio audience in Toronto beginning September 24, with field production already in progress in Toronto and Hamilton.

In addition, TheBeaverton.com has revamped to offer digital-only content in the form of podcasts, articles and, for the first time ever, original video.

“With the hilarious comedic duo of Emma Hunter and Miguel Rivas at the helm, Canadians are going to finally get the best fake news about real hot topics,” said Bell Media’s SVP independent production Corrie Coe, in the news release.  “We look forward to bringing the distinctive voice of TheBeaverton.com to the screen, alongside the brilliant creative team at TheBeaverton.com, and our wonderful production partners at Pier 21 Films.”
