TORONTO — Canadian Music Week announced Monday its annual conference and festival is being postponed until September due to “the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19”.
The CMW festival will now take place from September 8-13, with the conference running from September 9-11 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. The Radio Active Summit is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10.
For attendees who have already registered for CMW, which was scheduled originally to take place May 19-23, all badges and wristbands will be honoured on the new dates, says the news release.
“We take the health and safety of our community very seriously and do not wish to put anyone in unnecessary risk. CMW encourages you to support independent artists during this time of uncertainty and keep listening to music. We look forward to seeing you all in September!” reads the news release.
Now in its 38th year, Canadian Music Week is recognized as one of the premier entertainment events in North America focusing on the business of music. The CMW festival spans six nights of performances, with hundreds of showcasing bands at live music venues in downtown Toronto. All convention functions take place at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, 123 Queen Street West, Toronto.
