
CANADIAN ISP SUMMIT organizers Competitive Network Operators of Canada (CNOC) and Canadian Communication Systems Alliance (CCSA) announced today new additions to the schedule for the event being held virtually Sept. 28-29.
Leonard Brody, a business and technology visionary, will give a keynote speech on Sept. 28. He “has been called “a leader of the new world order” and was recently named one of top 30 management thinkers in the world,” according to a press release.
“In his compelling, customized talks – for clients ranging from the United Nations to Visa and Pepsi – Brody addresses the rapid pace of change, innovation, and disruption facing us all, and what to do about it.”
Also newly announced is the panel Regulatory Reality Check: A Conversation With Former CRTC Commissioners to be held Sept. 29. Konrad von Finckenstein, former CRTC chair, Peter Menzies, former CRTC vice chair of telecom and Chris MacDonald, former CRTC commissioner are all set to take part in this panel. Monica Auer, executive chair of the Forum for Research and Policy in Communications will moderate the panel.
The panel will feature “candid and constructive discussion about the CRTC’s recent and future regulatory approach in broadcasting and telecommunications, exploring: whether there is sufficient clarity on Canadian policy goals; is the CRTC living up to its mandate; and areas for reform,” the press release reads.
