HAMILTON, Ont. – New Canadian phone maker AIRO.LIFE announced today it has secured the “Be Free” trademark in the United States, a key step towards its upcoming 10,000-phone trial in the U.S., planned for the third quarter of 2021.
AIRO.LIFE’s Be Free Phone “is a quality smartphone with data, calls and texts provided absolutely free for the end-user,” says the company. The business plan is paid for via content and ads which appear on the Android-powered phone.
Company founder Doug Mochrie said in the press release acquiring the trademark “Be Free” in the U.S. is instrumental in defining and solidifying the “premise for our phones, which saves the general population money, while showcasing quality content around the end-user’s interests.”
“In addition to putting money back into the hands of its customer, AIRO.LIFE’s Be Free Phone also breaks down the digital divide with its mission to provide free access to information with a means to education and communication globally,” adds the release.
AIRO.LIFE is currently over 100% funded in its equity crowdfunding campaign on Equivesto. Although AIRO.LIFE is currently overfunded, Canadians can still invest by clicking here.
Based in Hamilton, Ontario, AIRO.LIFE was founded in 2017. The company’s web site does not indicate if it has a mobile virtual network operator contract with a U.S. carrier as yet and those who follow the Canadian wireless market know it’s probably quite unlikely it has one here.
