BURLINGTON, ON – The Canadian Communications Foundation (CCF) has announced its new board of directors for the year, following its annual general meeting on May 21.
The CCF board will consist of:
– Dr. Evelyn Ellerman, PhD – president;
– Jack Ruttle – vice-president;
– Dr. Asma Sayed;
– Darren James Harkness;
– Jon Keeble; and
– Tyler Nagel.
Nagel, who was elected to the board for the first time, is an instructor in the journalism program at SAIT Polytechnic in Calgary where he has taught for 12 years. He holds an MBA from Royal Roads University, is co-chair of the Research Ethics Board at SAIT, and is regional vice-president of the Graphic Communications Education Association.
Peter O'Neill resigned from the board at the AGM, but will continue to serve as secretary/treasurer, while Pip Wedge continues as executive director of the Foundation.
The CCF added that its website is currently undergoing major updating and enhancement, including the pending addition of material in the French language, in order to increase its value to broadcasters, academics, government, researchers, media and the general public. The overhaul is due to the inclusion of the CCF in the benefits package accompanying Corus Entertainment's acquisition of several broadcast properties in late 2013.
