TORONTO – CHCH, Citytv, CTV and Global will donate one hour of commercial-free primetime next week to simulcast a fundraising special for cancer research.
Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) will air September 7 at 8pm ET/PT on the four networks, as well as across a number of U.S. channels. Executive producers Gwyneth Paltrow and Joel Gallen of Tenth Planet Productions have pledged to deliver a one-of-a-kind show featuring performances from top recording artists and celebrities from film, television and sports.
Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Alicia Keys and Tim McGraw will deliver musical performances, while other talent participating in this year’s broadcast includes Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Jessica Biel, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Seth Rogen, Emma Stone, SU2C co-Founder Katie Couric, Simon Baker, Jordana Brewster, Diem Brown, Dana Delany, Chelsea Handler, Marg Helgenberger, Minka Kelly, Joe Manganiello, Jillian Michaels, Masi Oka, Ana Maria Polo, and Alison Sweeney.
One-hundred percent of all donations received from the public will go directly to cancer research. Canadian viewers will be able to donate to Stand Up to Cancer through the toll free number 888.90.STAND (8263) or online.
