TORONTO – The Canada Media Fund has announced it will remain in touch, virtually at least, with the industry throughout the Covid-19 crisis.
Last Tuesday, it hosted a webinar to explain the changes to the CMF’s funding programs for 2020-2021 and there is now a summary of those changes here.
The CMF normally presents changes to its budget, guidelines, and program deadlines with a 15-city, cross-Canada tour, but this year, it will offer a virtual question period of sorts – which anyone can now register for in the stream and language of your choosing.
Yesterday, CEO Valerie Creighton participated in Women in Film and Television Vancouver’s virtual town hall with Canada’s national funding and production agencies, which can be seen on WIFT’s Facebook page.
Finally, the CMF launched its Covid-19 online hub last week, which contains a directory of assistance programs for workers and businesses of the screen-based industries, the CMF’s action plan and the international, Covid-related trends it’s tracking.
The site will be updated regularly.
