Canada investing $1M to support broadband project in northeastern Ontario

The government of Canada announced Tuesday more than $1 million in funding via the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario (FedNor) to support the ongoing operations of Blue Sky Net for a three-year period. The funding will enable Blue Sky Net (BSN) to deliver a variety of information and communications technology (ICT) activities in the Nipissing-Timiskaming, Sudbury East, Manitoulin and Parry Sound East regions, according to a government press release. “As part of the initiative, BSN will work with local stakeholders to assess ICT trends and talent gaps, identify and implement solutions to increase skilled talent to support digital industries,” the release says....
