TORONTO – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) has re-opened the incentive for the co-development and co-production of digital media projects between Canadian producers and German producers based in Berlin-Brandenburg.

Now in its third year, the Canada-Germany Digital Media Incentive’s budget is set at CAD$450,000, with CMF and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB), the body responsible for film funding and media business development in the German states of Berlin and Brandenburg, each contributing half of the funds. The total maximum contribution for each project funded through the incentive is CAD $300,000.

To qualify, projects must involve producers eligible under both organizations’ criteria.  Projects must be created for digital platforms, such as a game, web series, multiplatform content, augmented reality or virtual reality experiences.

Submissions are open immediately and will close on September 17, 2019.  Projects will be evaluated and chosen by a selection committee of representatives from the CMF and MBB.
