CALGARY – The Calgary Marriott Downtown has become the chain’s first Canadian location to offer access to Netflix on their in-room TVs.

The newly redesigned hotel said that its Guest Room Entertainment (GRE) service allows guest to go OTT and sign up or sign in to their Netflix account, plus supports apps include YouTube, Crackle, Hulu, Rhrapsody and Pandora.  In addition, the interactive program guide offers 'just like home' functionality with future channel listings, programming descriptions, colour-coded general guide data and picture in picture capability.

"As part of our recent multi-million dollar renovation we knew that we wanted to marry the very best in luxury and design with the latest technology, to provide our guests with a complete and truly holistic experience", said GM Joseph Clohessy, in the news release.  "Incorporating the GRE solution is part of our commitment to elevate the experience of today's digital savvy travellers, who work hard, play hard and want to have access to their favourite digital entertainment."
