CableLabs CEO McKinney, NCTA chief Snowden headline SCTE Cable-Tec Expo roundtable

ORLANDO, FLA – New CableLabs CEO Phil McKinney will headline an “Industry Leaders” roundtable session at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo on October 17th. He will be joined by top executives from the National Cable & Telecommunications Association and Time Warner Cable says the Society of Cable and Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE).

The Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., will be the first public appearance at a cable convention for McKinney since he was named CEO of CableLabs in May. He'll be joined by NCTA chief of staff K. Dane Snowden on a panel that will be moderated by Jim Ludington, Time Warner Cable executive vice president of network operations. The panel will discuss their visions for the industry, as well as opportunities for the three organizations to align public policy, innovation and applied science considerations.

The roundtable will close the Expo’s opening day that will open with a keynote conversation between renowned entrepreneur and inventor Dean Kamen and Mike LaJoie, executive vice president and CTO of Time Warner Cable, and will include panels on “Technology and Operations Leadership” and “Challenges and Solutions Faced by Tier 2 and 3 Cable Operators.”

“Meeting the ongoing needs of our subscribers requires a shared agreement on what technologies are needed, how they will be implemented and what the implications are,” said Ludington. “Our ability to bring Dane Snowden, Phil McKinney and Mark Dzuban together in a single forum will provide SCTE Cable-Tec Expo attendees with an improved understanding of how NCTA, CableLabs and SCTE can work together to advance the future of telecommunications.”
