HAMILTON – Community television channel Cable 14 is behind a series of public service announcements designed to promote Hamilton Food Share’s organizations and programs to local residents in need.

Through a campaign called ‘14 Ways To Feed The Hammer’, the PSAs will feature not only how these organizations support individuals over the holidays, but how they ensure that vulnerable citizens have access to food all year round.  According to the news release, approximately 10,000 Hamilton households will reach out to the emergency food system for assistance in providing their family with the celebrations that many of us take for granted.

Cable 14 is providing approximately $150,000 in television broadcast production services and airtime to Hamilton Food Share to support this effort. The promotion will begin on November 26 and run until December 24, 2018.

“14 Ways to Feed the Hammer is an amazing opportunity for Cable 14 to help highlight the incredible work happening within the Emergency Food System and the overwhelming generosity of the people living in the City of Hamilton”, said Cable 14 broadcast operations manager Bill Custers, in the release.  “Our management, staff, and volunteers have completely embraced this opportunity to help support Hamilton Food Share and the work that they do every day of the year.”

Available in the Greater Hamilton area, Cable 14 is owned and operated as a community channel by shareholders Cogeco Communications and Rogers Communications.
