HAMILTON – Cable 14 and Hamilton Food Share have launched the second Annual 14 Ways To Feed The Hammer campaign just in time for the holiday season.

Cable 14 has produced a series of public service announcements designed to promote Hamilton Food Share’s organizations and programs to local residents in need. The PSAs will feature how these organizations support individuals over the holidays and how they ensure vulnerable citizens have access to food all year.

This holiday season, approximately 10,000 Hamilton households will reach out to the emergency food system for assistance in providing their families with the celebrations that many of us take for granted.

Cable 14, the local community channel owned by Cogeco Cable and Rogers Cable, is providing over $100,000 in television broadcast production services and airtime to Hamilton Food Share to support this effort. The promotion began on November 25 and the PSA’s will continue to be broadcast on Cable 14 until Christmas Eve.

Participating organizations will share the PSA’s on their social media platforms to assist in increasing awareness.

Organizations featured in the 2019 Campaign include The Salvation Army, Welcome Inn, Good Shepherd Centre, De Mazenod Door, Neighbour 2 Neighbour, East Hamilton Food Centre, Wesley Urban Ministries, Living Rock Ministries, Niwasa, Native Women’s Centre, Hamilton Food Share, and the City of Hamilton

14 Ways to Feed the Hammer is an amazing opportunity for Cable 14 to help highlight the incredible work happening within the Emergency Food System and the overwhelming generosity of the people living in the City of Hamilton”, said Cable 14 senior manager broadcast, Bill Custers, in a press release. “Our management, staff, and volunteers have completely embraced this opportunity to help support Hamilton Food Share and the work that they do every day of the year.”
