TORONTO – Rogers Cable is now offering Baby TV in Canada on demand.
Baby TV On Demand is an assortment of educational programs (usually eight minutes or so in length, befitting short attention spans) dedicated to babies and their parents. Rogers customers with a digital box can access Baby TV On Demand, under the "Kids" folder, on channel 100 in Ontario and New Brunswick.
"Baby TV offers parents programming for their babies and toddlers up to age three. Created in collaboration with child psychologists and development experts, Baby TV is designed to inspire, excite and promote learning," says the press release.
"Baby TV On Demand is an interactive television experience for parents and their babies that encourages learning in a playful environment," added David Purdy, vice-president and general manager television services for Rogers Cable, in a press release.
Rogers digital customers who are parents can choose from a variety of programming that is suitable for their babies’ development and will have access to a variety of free and paid Baby TV programming. The Baby Songs category will be free for customers to enjoy. Shows in other categories can be viewed for up to 48 hours for $0.99 or customers can purchase a value pack for $1.99, which gives them up to 72 hours to watch a selection of four different shows.
The decision to add the content on demand comes as Rogers is waiting on a Commission decision to add the Netherlands-based French and English TV channel to the eligible satellite list. The request was made in May.
