
OTTAWA — The Broadcasting Accessibility Fund today announced it will launch its eighth call for letters of intent tomorrow, which is the first step in its annual process seeking innovative projects that advance accessibility to broadcasting content for Canadians with disabilities.
Organizations that intend to apply to the Fund for a grant must complete a letter of intent and submit it no later than end of day on Monday, March 21, 2022.
Potential applicants are expected to review the Fund’s mandate and describe how the proposed project or initiative will further the mandate’s objectives.

The Broadcasting Accessibility Fund is an independent and impartial funding body that supports innovative projects to increase the accessibility of broadcasting content in Canada. To date, it has provided $4.1 million over seven rounds of funding committed to addressing ongoing gaps in broadcasting content accessibility, says a press release.
The Fund was created in 2011 as part of the tangible benefits package associated with Bell Canada’s acquisition of CTV. The CRTC approved the Fund’s creation together with initial funding of $5.7 million.
