BroadbandTV unveils advertising agency program to support Covid-19 relief efforts

VANCOUVER — Content distribution platform provider BroadbandTV Corp. (BBTV) announced Wednesday a new advertising agency program for companies supporting Covid-19 relief efforts.

BBTV, the second largest video property measured by unique viewers across the top 12 countries in the world, says it will commit a percentage of client advertising spend to organizations that are providing support and relief to those impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The funds can be applied directly to the World Health Organization (WHO), Feeding America or Canadian food banks. Alternatively, clients can use the funds to further extend the reach of their messaging, says the news release.

We all play a role in this world and we need to support Covid-19 efforts however we can. Like many businesses, we are working to raise funds, awareness and we’re doing everything possible to flatten the curve,” says Shahrzad Rafati, founder and CEO of BroadbandTV, in the news release. “We are also specifically supporting our ecosystem by providing the Covid-19 Brand and Advertising Agency Program to companies like Well Health Technologies that are working to combat Covid-19 on the frontlines. This program is a continuation of our commitment to make a positive impact and we’re excited about this partnership.”

The first client to take advantage of BBTV’s initiative is Vancouver-based Well Health Technologies Corp., a provider of telehealth services and the third-largest digital electronic medical record (EMR) supplier in Canada. Well’s VirtualClinic+ telehealth service supports families and caregivers who need to consult with a doctor for any reason including Covid-19-related concerns, providing immediate access online through virtualclinics.ca. The service is free for users with a valid health card in provinces such as British Columbia, Alberta or Ontario; otherwise there is a small fee.

“BBTV delivers a full suite of advertising solutions, access to premium brand-safe content, in addition to incredible global reach,” says Hamed Shahbazi, chairman and CEO of Well Health Technologies, in the release. “We are very pleased to be working with BBTV to raise awareness for our VirtualClinic+ telehealth service as it delivers true value to people in need at this crucial time.”

BBTV’s Covid-19 Brand and Advertising Agency Program is available now and the company says conversations are underway with a number of brands supporting Covid-19 initiatives.

“For marketers, we simplify the process of meeting their campaign objectives with contextually relevant brand-safe video content,” says Doug Johnson, vice-president of brand partnerships and ad sales at BroadbandTV. “You can transact in the way that works best for you with programmatic reserve via DV360 [Display and Video 360] or through a managed service engagement and direct IO [insertion order]. We’re excited to work with both existing and future clients to ultimately help our partners make an impact.”

BBTV generates tens of billions of monthly impressions, across 587 million unique viewers which consume 46.9 billion minutes of video content per month, according to the news release. BBTV is now positioned as the world’s second largest video property in unique viewership second only to Google, says the release.
