Boyce takes on Donlon’s duties amid restructuring at CBC


TORONTO – Chris Boyce has been named executive director, radio and audio at the CBC, replacing Denise Donlon who has parted ways with the national broadcaster.

Effective immediately, Boyce (pictured) assumes responsibility for the operations of CBC Radio and the execution of its strategic plan, in addition to his existing duties leading radio programming. He will report to Kirstine Stewart, EVP of CBC English Services.

"Chris brings to his new role a wide range of experience, a deep passion for what we do as a public broadcaster and an approach to programming that continues to resonate with our audiences", Stewart said in Friday’s announcement. "I know Chris will continue to build on CBC Radio’s recent successes by fostering the ongoing development of world-class content that will enrich all of our platforms and our audience’s listening experience."

A CBC Radio veteran, Boyce has been instrumental in the development of some of the service’s most successful programming including Q, Age Of Persuasion, Randy Bachman’s Vinyl Tap, White Coat, Black Art and Spark. Most recently, under his direction as programming director, CBC Radio has achieved some of its strongest audiences in recent years, the announcement continued.
