Boat Rocker’s Invasion renewed for second season on Apple TV+


TORONTO — Canadian entertainment company Boat Rocker Media announced today its hit sci-fi drama series Invasion has been renewed for a second season at Apple TV+.

“Set across multiple continents, Invasion follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world,” explains a press release.

The series was created by writers and executive producers Simon Kinberg (X-Men movies, Deadpool movies, The Martian) and David Weil (Hunters), and stars Golshifteh Farahani, Shamier Anderson, Shioli Kutsuna, Firas Nassar, Billy Barratt, Azhy Robertson, Tara Moayedi, Daisuke Tsuji and Sam Neill.

The renewal of the series comes as the final episode of season one is set to air Friday, Dec. 10 on Apple TV+.

Season one of Invasion was directed by Jakob Verbruggen (The Alienist, The Fall), who also serves as executive producer along with Kinberg and Weil. Other executive producers include Audrey Chon, Amy Kaufman, Elisa Ellis and Andrew Baldwin, as well as Boat Rocker Studios’ Katie O’Connell Marsh.

“The response from audiences around the world for Invasion has been incredible and we couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity to co-produce a second season with Apple Studios and our talented creative partners,” said David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, co-executive chairmen of Boat Rocker Media and co-chairmen of Boat Rocker Studios, in the press release.

“The show is a tour de force and we’re looking forward for the story to continue unfolding in season two.”
