New York-based production company and distributor BIG Media announced Tuesday it has licensed two documentary series to Blue Ant Media for Cottage Life and Smithsonian Channel in Canada.

Blue Ant will premiere Scanning History on Smithsonian Channel in March 2026 and Truthseekers Season 3 on Cottage Life in September 2026.

Scanning History (six episodes x 60 minutes) is a coproduction between BIG Media, WildBear Entertainment, ZDF Studios and TF1. Blending science, investigation and immersive visuals, this documentary series “unlocks hidden stories within iconic artifacts, ruins, and engineering feats using advanced scanning technologies and 3D visualization,” says a BIG Media press release.

A co-production between BIG Media and RMC Story, Truthseekers Season 3 (eight episodes x 60 minutes) follows in the footsteps of its previous two seasons, “which have captivated audiences worldwide with its blend of mythology, scientific inquiry, and evidence-based exploration into some of history’s most enduring mysteries,” BIG Media’s release says. Season 3 will explore popular legends such as the Loch Ness monster, Area 51, and what really took place in the legendary City of Troy.

“The pickup of these two titles from BIG Media’s growing slate of premium factual series strengthens its ongoing partnership with Blue Ant Media, which continues to invest in our original productions across history, science, wildlife, and factual entertainment,” said Danny Wilk, president and co-founder of BIG Media, in a statement. “Blue Ant Media is a great partner and we are dedicated to supporting their teams by providing a reliable supply of quality original content.”
