Blue Ant Studios co-developing Armadillo Avalanche video game based on YouTube series

Blue Ant Studios announced Tuesday it has partnered with Toronto-based Titan1Studios to co-develop a video game adapted from the animated YouTube series Armadillo Avalanche.

Produced by Blue Ant Studios and based on the animated IP created by Celeste Koon, Armadillo Avalanche originally launched as a series of digital shorts. It was produced with support from the Shaw Rocket Fund and the Canada Media Fund.

The series “centers around a group of girls who face both real-world and supernatural challenges as they navigate tweenhood together through music, friendship, and monster fights,” reads a description in a Blue Ant Studios press release.

Building off the fandom as a result of the series, the Armadillo Avalanche video game is designed to bring “a fresh twist to the rhythm-action genre, blending platforming, beat ʼem up combat, and music-based mechanics,” the press release says.

Players will take the stage as members of a tween girl rock band, fighting off creatures using powerful combos tied to guitar, bass, drums and vocals, the release explains. The game will feature co-op multiplayer for up to four players, each controlling a different band member with a distinct play style and musical role. “As players master their instruments, they’ll unlock musical abilities, and high-impact power-ups — all designed to deliver fast-paced, expressive gameplay,” the release says.

Blue Ant Studios says the video game represents a strategic brand extension that expands the franchise into interactive entertainment and supports ongoing transmedia growth.

The Armadillo Avalanche game is set to be released on PC and console platforms in 2026.

“We’ve always loved how the heart of Armadillo Avalanche lies in the girls’ friendship, and the way it comes alive through music,” said AJ Trauth, vice president of kids/family, young adult and animation at Blue Ant Studios, in the press release. “Bringing that energy into the gaming space is a dream. We’re so excited to team up with Titan1Studios to give fans a chance to play as the band, feel the rhythm, and connect with the story in an entirely new way.”

Based in Toronto with an office in Calgary, Titan1Studios is known for its work in cross media and specializes in incubating original IP through publishing, video games and emerging media. Its work includes: the Spooky Magic Combat title The Events at Unity Farm, which launched on Steam during Next Fest in 2023; the Welcome Animated Series and Welcome: A Cozy Estuary video game slated for release in 2026; and Love is a Roguelite (or LIAR for short), a tactical turn-based deckbuilding game launching on Xbox and PC in 2027.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Blue Ant Studios on Armadillo Avalanche, an IP that aligns perfectly with our values,” said Rathan Moorthy, president and CEO of Titan1Studios, in a statement. “Its focus on mental health, brought to life by a wonderful cast of female characters and a dynamic musical journey, resonates deeply with our team. We’re looking forward to bringing this vision to life using our innovative development tools, and creating an unforgettable experience for players.”
