Blue Ant sells several crime series to Asian broadcasters


TORONTO — Heading into the Asian Television Forum in Singapore this week, global distributor Blue Ant International today announced it has licensed several crime-themed series to platforms in Asia, further expanding its reach in the region.

Pan-Asian linear network A+E Networks Asia has picked up season five of See No Evil (16 episodes x 60 minutes, Arrow Media and Saloon Media, a Blue Ant Studios company), while Thailand linear broadcaster True Visions (Thailand) has licensed season one of Prison (3 x 60, Spring Films).

Chinese SVOD streaming service Huan Xi Shou Ying has picked up multiple crime series, including: The Killer in My Family (pictured, 6 x 60, Woodcut Media); BTK: A Killer Among Us (2 x 60, Cream Productions); seasons one and two of Prison (6 x 60, Spring Films); seasons one and two of Fraud Squad: The Hunt (15 x 60, Bob Brown Productions); Our Toughest Cases (6 x 60, Woodcut Media); How to Stay Out of Jail (1 x 60, Spring Films); Women on the Force (6 x 60, Flint TV and Lambent Productions); and season five of See No Evil (16 x 60, Arrow Media and Saloon Media).

In numerous deals brokered by Kate Blank, senior director of international sales at Blue Ant International, over the past six months the company has secured sales of more than 950 hours of content with broadcast and streaming platforms in China, Thailand, South Korea, Indonesia and Japan across documentaries, factual, specialist factual, and kids and family categories.
