Blue Ant sells 650-plus hours of content to free streamer Pluto TV

TORONTO — Global distribution company Blue Ant International today announced it has licensed more than 650 hours of programming to free streaming service Pluto TV, which is owned by ViacomCBS and has a global audience of almost 50 million monthly active users.

Beginning this month, programming from Blue Ant International’s catalogue, including factual entertainment, specialist factual and documentaries, will be available on Pluto TV’s live, linear channels as well as on video-on-demand (VOD) in the U.S., the U.K., France and territories in Latin America.

The deal was brokered by Ludo Dufour, Blue Ant International’s senior vice-president of international co-productions and sales, with Kate Blank, senior director of international sales for Blue Ant International, securing sales to Pluto TV in France.

Among the programming to be available, in both English and Spanish, is Pet Heroes (pictured above, produced by Corkscrew Media), “which showcases extraordinary real-life stories of animals who exhibit incredible heroic rescues,” says Blue Ant International’s press release.

Additional English-language programming for Pluto TV audiences include several DIY and home renovation series starring celebrity designer Sarah Richardson, such as seasons one to four of Sarah’s House and Design Inc. (both by SRH Productions).

Pluto TV’s Spanish-speaking viewers in the U.S. will be able to enjoy Pick a Puppy (by Rhino Content), Rebel Without a Kitchen (by General Purpose Entertainment) and Taste of the Country (by Blue Ant Studios).
