Blue Ant Media announced last week the launch of three of its free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels — Shockwave, Wildest and History & Warfare — on Australia’s Network 10’s streaming service (10.com.au).
The launch expands Blue Ant Media’s partnership with Network 10, which already offers Blue Ant’s paranormal FAST channel HauntTV.
“These launches broaden our channel and VOD line-up on 10.com.au, serving Australian audiences more of the curiosity sparking content they crave,” Jon Penn, Blue Ant Media’s managing director for the Asia Pacific market, said in a press release. “10.com.au is the first place audiences in Australia will be able to access our thrilling natural disaster documentary channel — Shockwave — which we strongly believe Network Ten’s audience will respond to.”
The Shockwave channel offers “a front row experience of high-octane survival from natural disasters, tech failures, daring rescues, and countless other death-defying moments,” Blue Ant’s press release says. Programming highlights include: Disasters in Space, which reveals behind-the-scenes stories of NASA catastrophes and near misses, including many unknown to the public; and Alive: Surviving Catastrophe, which explores headline-grabbing disasters through the lens of survivors’ perspectives.
Natural history channel Wildest’s programming highlights include: World of the Wild, which delves into the crucial, fragile interdependence between animal life and the environment; and Supersenses: Wild Feats of Evolution, a look at remarkable adaptations within the natural world and how wild creatures use them to survive.
History & Warfare’s programming includes: Besieged Fortresses: Legendary Battles, a series exploring how fortresses redefined the art of warfare, elevated by CGI, dramatized scenes and expert analysis; and Megapolis: The Ancient World Revealed, a documentary series bringing back to life the greatest ancient cities at the height of their powers.
