
TORONTO – Blue Ant Media has promoted Jamie Schouela to president, Canadian Media.
The Canadian producer, broadcaster and international media company said Monday that Schouela (pictured) will continue to oversee the strategic direction and operations of Blue Ant Media’s Canadian brands, including Love Nature, BBC Earth, Cottage Life, T+E, A.Side, Makeful, Smithsonian Channel Canada and HIFI. His portfolio includes multi-platform content development, original content commissioning, programming acquisitions and distribution across TV, digital and print, as well as the marketing, publicity, media sales and Blue Ant Plus arms of the division. Schouela also oversees relationships with all of Blue Ant Media national cable, IPTV and satellite partners.
After joining Blue Ant Media in 2013 as EVP of marketing and communications, Schouela managed the consumer and trade promotions for Blue Ant Media’s portfolio of brands in Canada and led the launches of Cottage Life Television, Smithsonian Channel Canada and Makeful, plus was a key player in the rebrand of Oasis to Love Nature.
In 2015, he was promoted to EVP, Canadian Media, with recent accomplishments including the Canadian launches of BBC Earth and multi-platform music offering, A.Side, as well as the creation of a new social content studio, Blue Ant Plus, which specializes in creating custom social and digital content for brands.
