Blue Ant launches new FAST channel HistoryTime on LG Channels

TORONTO — Blue Ant Media announced today the launch of its newest free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel, HistoryTime, which is debuting in Canada and the U.S. on LG Channels.

HistoryTime’s curated programming “showcases fascinating stories and events that have shaped humanity, offering a deep understanding of how we got here and why things are the way they are,” reads a press release.

“From ancient times to modern events, the channel explores a vast array of topics that give context to moments in history and help put our world in perspective,” the release says.

The channel’s exclusive lineup of history-themed programming includes M.A.D. World (above), “a contemporary examination [of] the Cold War conflicts that brought Earth to the brink of annihilation, featuring stunning archival footage and first-hand accounts,” says a description in the release.

Other exclusive programming available on HistoryTime includes Who Killed Gandhi?, Frank Lloyd Wright: The Man Who Built America, Fidel Castro: An Unauthorized Bio, Hitler’s Gold, and Portraits of Marie Antoinette.

“Blue Ant has a long history of curating and producing history content and are thrilled to now bring it to free streaming audiences on HistoryTime,” said Jamie Schouela, president of global channels and media at Blue Ant Media, in the release.

“The channel fills a gap in the FAST environment and our exclusive series and documentaries will satisfy history buffs interested in a wide range of topics.”

HistoryTime joins other FAST channels in Blue Ant’s growing portfolio, including Love Nature, Homeful, HauntTV, CrimeTime and Total Crime.

LG Channels is LG’s exclusive free streaming service available on LG smart TVs (models from 2016 to the present). The service provides access to more than 350 channels offering live and on-demand programming, including movies, TV shows, news, sports, children’s programs and more.
