Blue Ant launches FAST channels on LG Channels in Canada, U.S.

BANFF, Alta. — At Banff World Media Festival today, Blue Ant Media announced the launch of a suite of its free ad-supported TV (FAST) channels on LG Channels in Canada and the U.S.

In Canada, LG Channels now includes Blue Ant’s home renovation and lifestyle channel Homeful, paranormal-themed channel HauntTV and true crime channel CrimeTime.

In the U.S., Homeful and CrimeTime’s sister channel Total Crime join wildlife and nature channel Love Nature on LG Channels.

Blue Ant made the announcement in advance of a panel discussion taking place today at the Banff Festival, “The FAST/AVOD market is exploding – what’s in it for you?”, which includes Jamie Schouela, president of global channels and media at Blue Ant Media.

With the channel launches announced today, LG Channels audiences will have “unlimited and free access to Blue Ant Media’s extensive library of curated programming line-ups on each channel,” says a press release.

The announcement grows Blue Ant’s existing partnership with LG Electronics, which launched Love Nature in the U.S. in 2020, the release explains.

“We’re excited to bring our growing slate of free streaming offerings, full of exclusive content, to LG Channels’ audiences,” Schouela said in the press release. “Consumers can find the LG Channels app as soon as they power up their screen and engagement is growing quickly in both the US and Canada.”

LG Channels is an exclusive free streaming service available on LG smart TVs (models from 2016 to the present). The service provides access to more than 350 channels offering a wide selection of live and on-demand programming, including movies, TV shows, news, sports and childrens’ programs.

In addition to LG Channels, Blue Ant’s FAST channels have previously launched on platforms such as VIZIO WatchFree+, The Roku Channel, Xumo, Samsung TV Plus and PrendeTV.
