Blue Ant launches FAST channel TotalCrime on Roku in U.S.

TORONTO — Blue Ant Media announced today the launch of TotalCrime, a new free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel on The Roku Channel in the United States.

“TotalCrime serves true crime enthusiasts with a catalogue of gripping real-life stories depicted in factual series and documentaries,” explains a Blue Ant press release, which notes three quarters of the channel’s lineup is exclusive true crime programming available only to The Roku Channel’s audience.

The launch of TotalCrime in the U.S. follows the company’s launch of several FAST channels in North America and around the world, including Love Nature, HauntTV and CrimeTime, a sister channel to TotalCrime that launched on Roku in Canada in March 2021.

“Audiences are hungry for true crime programming and TotalCrime’s lineup is jam-packed with exclusive true crime series and documentaries they can’t find anywhere else,” said Jamie Schouela, president of global channels and media at Blue Ant Media, in the press release.

“The fact that our Canadian crime streaming channel has grown 220% in the last 9 months makes us confident that TotalCrime channel will become a fan-favourite for The Roku Channel’s U.S. viewers. Given Blue Ant’s history connecting with niche audiences, we’re well-positioned to continue bringing new channels to the exploding free streaming space,” Schouela said.

One of the TotalCrime programs now available on The Roku Channel in the U.S. is Murder, Lies and Alibis (above, 5 x 60’), “a documentary series exploring notorious stories of true crimes in Australia as told by surviving victims, their family and friends, eye witnesses, investigators and perpetrators,” the press release reads.

Other programming available to The Roku Channel’s U.S. viewers includes Handsome Devils (10 x 60’), I Didn’t Do It (7 x 60’), Encounters With Evil (10 x 60’) and The Killer in My Family (6 x 60’).
