Blue Ant International offering 100-plus hours of new programming


TORONTO — With the start of this year’s digital MIPCOM event three weeks away, global content distribution group Blue Ant International today unveiled over 100 hours of new programming from producers around the world, across documentaries, factual, specialist factual, and kids and family categories.

“Blue Ant International has an incredible amount of newly acquired premium content from a variety of production companies ranging from single series to large library acquisition deals,” said Ludo Dufour, senior vice-president of international co-productions and sales, Blue Ant International, in the company’s news release. “We’ve been in constant contact with our international buyers over the last several months and are heading into this year’s fall market season with a carefully selected array of premium, compelling content that will appeal to audiences everywhere.”

Some of the documentaries in Blue Ant International’s MIPCOM slate include: 9/11 Kids (one episode x 90 minutes or 1×100; 4K and HD; Saloon Media); The Two Lives of Li Ermao (1×90; HD; Spring Films); and The Shadow of Dumont (1×120 HD, 2×60 HD, 1×100 HD; KarmaFilm).

New factual content includes: Christmas at Chatsworth House (pictured, 1×60; HD; ITN Productions), which looks inside the inner workings of a historic British estate; Hotel Paranormal (10×60; HD; Saloon Media), a 10-part supernatural docu-series narrated by Dan Aykroyd; and Aging Well Suzuki Style, (1×60; HD; Rezolution Pictures and Handel Productions), which follows 83-year-old David Suzuki as he determines how well he is aging.

New natural history series from Love Nature include: A Bee’s Diary (1×60; HDR, 4K and HD; Taglicht Media); and Stormborn (3×60; HDR, 4K and HD; Maramedia), narrated by Golden Globe-winning actor Ewan McGregor.

Blue Ant International’s kids and family offerings include Detention Adventure (season two, 10×11; HD; LoCo Motion Pictures and Broken Compass Films); and Nikola Tesla and the End of the World (6×10; HD; Zoot Pictures).
