Blue Ant hoping to scare up more viewers with streamer HauntTV


TORONTO — Marking Blue Ant Media’s debut in the free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel space, the company today announced it has launched a new live streaming service, HauntTV, on the Roku Channel.

Available to Canadians free of charge on Roku streaming devices, HauntTV grants viewers access to Blue Ant Media’s library of original and acquired ghostly programming. HauntTV can be found on the Roku Channel in the “Live TV” section on Roku streaming players or Roku TVs.

“By launching HauntTV as a free live streaming offering on The Roku Channel in Canada, we are unlocking hundreds of hours of binge-worthy ghost stories from our catalogue and bringing them to a new audience,” says Jamie Schouela, president of global channels and media at Blue Ant Media, in a press release. “The launch of HauntTV is our first foray into the FAST channels space in Canada and an important milestone for Blue Ant Media as we continue to deliver our content to emerging distribution platforms.”

Some of the titles available on HauntTV at launch include: Ghost Chasers (10 episodes x 60 minutes, season one), exploring some of Europe’s most haunted locations; Ghostly Encounters (83×30, seasons 1-4), following first-hand real-life accounts of people who say they have experienced run-ins with ghosts; and World’s Scariest Hauntings (10×60, season one), exploring terrifying ghost and horror stories from around the globe.

Other series on offer include Haunted Case Files (13×60, season one), Paranormal Survivor (20×60, seasons two and three), Strange Evidence (32×60, season one), Boogeyman (13×60, season two), and National Parks: Secrets & Legends (12×30, season two).
