TORONTO – New Canadian business and financial news television channel Bloomberg TV Canada will officially launch on November 16, parent company Channel Zero said Tuesday.

An exclusive partnership between Bloomberg Media and the independent Canadian media company, the channel will provide 24/7 Bloomberg global market coverage and Canadian business and financial news from a new, state-of-the-art high definition (HD) studio in Toronto's financial district.

In the first of several talent appointments, former BNN financial reporter Pamela Ritchie (pictured) has joined Bloomberg TV Canada as anchor of The Daily Brief, a one-hour program that will provide an in-depth look at the day's market action.  The Daily Brief will air weekdays at 4:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT beginning November 16.

“We are delighted to have Pamela at Bloomberg TV Canada,” said Channel Zero’s vice-president news Mike Katrycz, in the announcement.  “Her knowledge and experience in the financial sector is a perfect fit for Bloomberg, and she sets the bar for the all-star talent line-up we’re assembling for the channel.”

In addition, Michael Bancroft has been named executive producer of Bloomberg TV Canada.  With experience at broadcasters including CBS, CNBC, ABC, Network Ten and BNN, Bancroft has experienced all sides of television production as a writer, producer, presenter, and news anchor.
