BlackBerry wins U.S. patent infringement lawsuit

WATERLOO – A U.S. federal jury has ruled in favour of BlackBerry in a patent infringement case brought by Mobile Telecommunications (MTel) in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.MTel originally claimed BlackBerry infringed five patents. Prior to trial, the Court found that two of the patents were directed to non-patentable subject matter, that BlackBerry did not infringe one of the patents, and that one of the patents was indefinite.
